Hair matrix germinative epidermal cells confer follicle-inducing capabilities on dermal sheath and high passage papilla cells.
The hair matrix surrounds the top and sides of the dermal papilla.
The hair matrix is the actively growing portion of the follicle consisting of a collection of epidermal cells that rapidly divide, move upward, and give rise to the hair shaft and the internal root sheath.
The cells of the hair matrix have vesicular nuclei and deeply basophilic cytoplasm.
Melanocytes can be found between the basal cells of the hair matrix.
The hair matrix cells give rise to 6 different types of cells that make up the different layers of the hair shaft and the inner root sheath.
The middle layer of the hair shaft (hair cortex) constitutes the bulk of the hair and consists of cells that keratinize gradually as they move upward from the hair matrix.

Hair root：髮根

We all know that the hair root of great styling starts with the right haircut.
There are two different sections to a strand of your hair: the hair root and the hair shaft.
The hair follicle encases this entire hair root but it is the papilla where everything happens.
The hair root is the part of the hair located below the surface of the scalp.
Heavy braids put unwanted pressure on the hair root that can result in the pulling out of the hair strands.
Below the surface of the skin is the hair root, which is enclosed within a hair follicle.
The hair root manages the growth of hair. It is situated in the dermis, is nourished by a dense network of fine blood vessels in the dermal papilla and is permanently forming new hair material out of specialized skin cells of the hair matrix.
The hair root is surrounded by an internal and external root line.
Pigment cells, so called melanocytes, which are situated in the hair root produce brown-black (eumelanin) or reddish-yellow colorants in a quantity determined by genetic endowment.
The Outer Root Sheath (ORS) is the outermost layer of the hair root .

The hair stream was where all the other follicles went in the same direction.
A hair stream is an area of hair that grows in the same direction.
Two hair streams that flow in opposite directions, incidentally, are what create a natural part.

These hairstyles create a horizontal line, thus helping to balance the long face.

You don't necessarily want to have a horizontal line at the level on your face.

Horizontal parting：水平劃分

The nape can be located by taking a horizontal parting or making a horizontal line across the back of the head at the occipital bone.
Beginning at the nape on one side, take a horizontal parting 1/4" to 1/2" from the hair line parallel to the floor.
Make a horizontal parting from the left front section into the left crown section.

Horizontal section：水平髮片

Take back a horizontal section from the temple area to just behind the ear.
If you want a horizontal cutting line, you must create a horizontal section.
Beginning with horizontal section, work from just below crown up to temples.
Part a 1 inch horizontal section and comb down.
If using a horizontal section of hair, turn iron away from head. If using a vertical section, turn iron in either direction.

Horizontal waving：水平波紋

Vertical finger waving differs from horizontal waving in that the ridges and waves run up and down the head.

Horseshoe section：U型分區

Take a horseshoe section from the crest(冠) to the occipital bone to the low point of the recession.

Hydrogen bonds：氫鍵--氫鍵能在整髮、燙髮或者捲髮的過程中受到水的影響而做暫時性的改變。能夠打斷氫鍵的媒介物是水，氫鍵的改造是發生在烘乾的過程中。

由於 a helix 螺旋摺疊的關係，一個胺基酸的 C=O (carbonyl) 會與下游第三個胺基酸上的 N-H 產生氫鍵 (C=O…H-N)。而其間的相對位置與方向是如此完美配合，因此可以得到最大力量的氫鍵鍵結；同時因為 a-helix 上的每個 C=O 與 N-H 都會結成氫鍵，整個 a helix 就以相當多數量的氫鍵為架橋鍵，變成堅固的圓筒狀結構。

氫鍵的形成是因為氫原子的低陰電性，容易被附近的強陰電性原子 (如氮或氧) 奪去電子，露出正電荷，再被另一個帶強負電性的原子吸引，產生類似離子鍵的吸引力，不過其力量很弱。若此三個原子 (O...H-N) 在空間上排成一直線，則所產生的氫鍵最強；但若不排成一直線，則氫鍵會減弱。因此兩方原子的相對位置，就變得極為重要。

雙氧水為強氧化劑，有腐蝕性，遇光會變質。雙氧水在酸性時穩定。醫學上利用雙氧水遇氧化物或還原物能迅速分解，生成新生氧，並發生泡沫的性能而作消毒防腐之用。

Neutralizing solution contains the oxidizing agent hydrogen peroxide or sodium bromate.
The most common neutralizer in perms is hydrogen peroxide in 5 or 10 volume strength (about 1.5-3% peroxide).
When you have a hair perm, the hydrogen peroxide actually goes into your hair roots to shape the hair.
